WHAT DID YOU, COME TO DO

John 10:1-15

I believe we have a full understanding of What Jesus came to do. He was sent by God to redeem mankind back unto himself. He came to save, deliver, and set us free from the chains of death, grave, and Hell. Jesus said, I’ve come that you might have life, and to have it more abundantly.

WHAT DID YOU, COME TO DO

Just as we understand the real purpose of Jesus coming down to earth from 40 and 2 generations, we must have a clear understanding of the purpose of why the enemy, Satan himself, is wandering on God’s given earth, seeking whom he may devour. He is a defeated foe, who’s trying to build up an army from those who continue to serve him, with the thought of getting revenge.

The Bible clearly states that enemy’s only real purpose is to Steal, Kill, and destroy.

*STEAL: to wrongfully take what is not yours.

*KILL: to cause death, to put an end,

*DESTROY: to damage, ruin, defeat, danger.

WHAT DID YOU, COME TO DO

YOU EVER WONDER WHO IS YOUR ENEMY?

A GOOD ENEMY WANTS TO CONFUSE YOUR MIND SO THAT YOU DO NOT REALLY IDENTIFY WHO THE REAL ENEMY IS. We must admit, he is good at what he does.

The enemies’ goal is for you to not recognize what he is doing. GORILLA WARFARE, RUN ATTACK AND RUN AND HIDE.

WHAT DID YOU, COME TO DO

There is only one effective tool to counter the enemy… that is THE WORD OF GOD.

If the enemy can keep you anemic in the word, he can keep you anemic in life.

The bottom line is there will be attacks on your mind, your health, your family, your church and our society.

2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

WHAT DID YOU, COME TO DO

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

We have 3 enemies: the world, flesh and the devil. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit reign supreme over any evil source.

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

We should never underestimate the power of God’s enemies --- but we must know all the powers of the demonic foes.

WHAT DID YOU, COME TO DO

The ultimate goal for every believer is to become mature and be transformed into the Image of our Lord Jesus. From the time we get saved, we start to grow. But growing spiritually alone is enough? What about the other areas in life?

In the natural sense, Your are only young once --- BUT SEEMS YOU CAN BE IMMATURE FOREVER… none of us stay young, we must grow up at some point. Somebody came up with an advertisement that says

I don’t want to grow up, I’m a Toys R Us Kid,

It’s time for us to grow up, because we’re not Toys R Us Kids.

Luke 2:52 says that Jesus increased in Wisdom and stature and in Favor of God and men

Here we see 4 areas of growth:

1. "In Wisdom" which is about Phycological Growth:

Jesus had shown His Wisdom all His life through His Words and Actions. He Himself is Wisdom!

- What you know is called Knowledge, but the application of the knowledge is called wisdom.

- Wisdom is to think before speaking.

- Wisdom is to do right thing at a right time!

- Wisdom is to be careful in all our deeds.

- James 1:5 God is the source of wisdom, let us seek Him for the wisdom we need.

- It is our responsibility to live as wise.

- 1 Corinthians 1:30 Jesus has become wisdom for us

2. "In Stature" which is about Physical Growth:

- Jesus healed the sick, He took our sickness on the cross but there's no account in bible that says He was sick

- John 2:13-16 - Bible Says, no one could able to tame him. Which gives us an understanding that He did not have a small feeble body. He had a good physical outlook and which was also maintained well enough.

- 1 Corinthians 6:19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit...

- Physical growth is all about physical health

- A spiritually whole must not neglect physical unwholesome

- It does not mean to only think about your body always and neglect your spirit.

3. "In Favor of God" which is about Spiritual Growth:

- Relationship with God is the foundation for any Christian life.

- Galatians 5:16 talks about walking in the Spirit

- 1 John 1:7 - says to walk in light

4. "In Favor of Men" which is about Social Growth:

- We as Christians not only have a relationship with God but He has also instructed us to love our neighbors.

- Jesus was a friend of both poor and rich, sinful and righteous

- Jesus did not have any partiality with poor or rich, creed, tongue etc.

- We see people good with God but not at good terms with people, which is not a sign of maturity.

BE READY, BE STRONG, KNOW YOUR ENEMY’S TACTICS.

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
